Fairing/Cowling Deflectors
In an attempt to divert the cold winter air around me . . . . I found that ZG1000 lower cowling guides will mount to the upper and lower windshield mounts. Part# 13070-1171 LH & 13070-1172 RH.
Yes, it looks like big Ears . . . But it works great . . . Diverts the air around you very well! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Compared to the AeroFlow alternative:

Does the cowling guides reduce buffeting cause by the wind screen? If so please describe the before and after effects at speed.
Thanks

Actually, my tank bag seemed to eliminate the head buffeting . . . Plus, I cut the hump out of my seat so I could scoot back further on the seat.
The main difference is reducing the air coming around the stock windshield. I sit pretty high in my seat (where the hump was, which is thicker) . . . You may need to shorten your windshield if you are getting head buffeting. Or, try moving your tank bag forward or back. Modified seat:

I noticed a much better side defector alternative on AeroFlow's website:
![]() http://www.aeroflowscreens.com/KTM990950.htm http://www.aeroflowscreens.com/KTM990950Photos.htm http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1104/.f ![]() I did close off the gap between my shield and deflector . . . Which decreases the air even more. The only issue I have with the stock shield is that it is too narrow at the bottom. This dorky setup looks dumb . . . But it works with existing on hand deflectors. ![]()
