Love Hookers Gap, great short cut to avoid Asheville from the 151 to points N. It is hard to find if you don't know where it is as the street signs keep getting stolen
Cuttle, just found this thread. Love it! I'm envious of the riding you guys get in WNC. Where is this house? And Marshall has one of my favorite places to get food to-go. Whenever MrsDonkeys and I are up that way, we snag a few pot pies.
The house is on 213 near Marshall (boring road though) - but I was a bit late and I can do the good stuff there any day. Pie is good!
If there is a historical organization in the county, and the house can be traced to some historical event, they may be able to help restore and save the house.I have been through Marshall a few times over the years.
It doesn't appear to be on the market as far as I can tell. I have a fondness for old homes and have passively been looking for a project for future retirement now, while the market is still down.
as pretty as the house is, the location is not good at all (close to the road and lower than the tarmac). There is a really neat, empty house in similar style on hwy 23 - but I have no idea if it's for sale (I assume it's part of a big acreage.. so everything is possible)
went to the RA rally at Biltmore for a bit and watched the "GS Giants games". Unfortunately I missed yesterdays track competition... damn work! Dan aka GSweave on the right before the slow race don't know his name - but he did great in the barrel race (apparently I make a great barrel weight ) some folks did not quiet as good on the way home oh, and only a Moran would ride a Morini to a BMW rally (they had plenty of beemers there already....) and tonight sky
Hey, do you WNC folks still meet up at the Wedge every Wednesday night? I've got to make a trip to Eurosport, and am considering making a night of it next week.
I can't expect the fine folks of eurosport to rush on behalf of me. I might as well give them some extra time and enjoy a few brews. Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...
Next week, July 3rd. This is all assuming I get my Jeep running before then. No Jeep means no trip. Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...
Way to much rain lately, so I didn't' get a change to ride a lot, but I did do some long overdue bike projects: moving and adding buckles to stop the tanbag from sliding around changing my seating position from Western (knees sticking out) to English (legs tight) - and it helps a bunch with touching the ground fixin' some stuff I broke (house rules: you break it - you fix it) yeah I know - reading glasses and .... no more knobbies - but something really fun for the road and ok on hard-pack gravel: Conti Trail Attack 2 front tire next, oil-change, few more maintenance things and I am ready for a tour de lobsta....
