A longtime inmate here, Jim Rowley, was unfortunate to lose his house in the Black Forest Fire a few weeks ago. He and his family are OK.

He's a rally fanatic and a machinist- over the years, he has helped many of us with our misguided projects. He's built GSs with conventional suspension, Africa Twins with unconventional suspension (proper MX stuff!), and loads of other projects as well.

As anyone can imagine, the fire is a devastating event both emotionally and financially. Which is where this idea came up, and you can help. On the way out of the house as the fire was coming, he grabbed this:

Jonah Street's Klim Valdez jacket from the 2008 Dakar. I had the idea of a raffle, and he agreed. The goal here is to help someone who's gone through a loss.

Tickets are $5. The drawing will be Friday, July 26. The more tickets you buy, the more chances you'll have to win.

    Send paypal to: mapenginc@hotmail.com

Throw a few bucks in the till, have a chance at a really cool piece of memorabilia, and help an advrider out in a time of need. When the time comes we'll put all the names in a hat (one name for each ticket sold, more tickets means more chances to win!) and pull a lucky name.

To make it more attractive, I'm going to add a couple of prizes as well.

First, an ultra limited edition If you see Kay wine rally racing shirt from Tunisia. Not this actual one (which has my name embroidered on it) but a brand new, not smelly one. I think I have any size you want from small to XXL.

Second, a set of Doubletake Mirrors (the mirrors, but not all the RAM parts).

    More chances to feel lucky!
