Wow, I had no idea they had a cop in the pits. Nothing like that out here. They teched us once at the beginning of the season, after that I guess we were on the honor system, because I don't recall anyone ever checking anything after that.

The NJ State Police have been enforcing safety rules since the 60's, they pretty much forced USAC to require roll cages on the champ cars back then.

With recent budget cuts I'm not sure that they still require a Trooper at the track these days, until the 90's when I stopped racing it was a requirement.

Having a cop with a gun around really cuts down on fights in the pits:lol3

I understand the intent, the side effect is that the net keeps debris away from the driver in a crash.

That was a pretty good race. Two wrecks on the last lap, a whole bunch of cars slid across the finish line sideways and shedding parts. :lol3

The girlie finished backwards, and I think she may have taken out her beau.

Great 5 minute video on Davy Allison's 1992

Lots of news out of NHMS today. The biggest is Harvick and Budweiser are going to Stewart Haas next season. Looks like Ryan Newman is out. I guess if you bring money you get the seat. Danica and Harvick brought it through their sponsors. If I was Tony, I'd be looking hard at that harware store heir next. :deal He seems pretty quick and is a billionair to boot.

Harvick's Bud car will run #4. Been a long time since we've seen the #4. I think the last was the Morgan McClure Kodak car driven by Swervin' Irvan'

Sure do miss the Robert Yates cars...

Brian Vickers is easily one of the quickest drivers in the sport. Even with poor equipment. Good to see him score.

It is good to see Vickers back in the mix. I bet he has a full time ride next year.
Danica just cant figure out the drivers tracks. She holds her own on the superspeedways though when you have it pinned the whole race...
The Gen6 cars are a blessing to the sport, the Gen5's almost killed NASCAR.

Bloomquist or Larson are my picks for Eldora.

    Should be a wreck fest.

Dave and Ryan are running. That's cool to see. They are both using Brad Kes's trucks, I think.

No Stewart (conflict of interest is what I heard, but that seems crazy since NASCAR is a conflict of interest). Ryan Newman is running and one other Cup guy but don't remember who.

Since there will be no sponsor guarantee that they would make the main, a lot of Cup guys couldn't talk sponsors into springing for a truck).

It should be fun to watch, the dirt guys should hand the pavement their asses. I wonder how many people in the field have ever turned a wheel on dirt?

I predict dry slick and dusty and a LOT of yellows.
