Just a heads up for those interested.

"adventuretech.biz" should have raising links for the 2014 Vstrom 1000 listed on their site and order-able this week.

I'm going for 1 1/8" lift while dropping my forks through the yoke 10mm.
Richland Rick tried them out and says the side and centre stands both still work but are stretching it a bit. I'll somehow add some blocks to each

here is the bike I use for rougher stuff and deeper sand. I will never sell this bike. You can drill 'em, drop 'em, pick them up easily, and do any modification you please.
It has a free flow big bore exhaust with GSXR 1000 titanium can but still wouldn't quite make 40 (very enjoyable ) hp. A 22 litre tank plus 8 litre collapsible bladder gives me 600 kms range unless it is very sandy going. Both ends suspended properly for its operating weight.
Here it is on the Birdsville track (QLD to South Australia) - 520 kms of dirt road with just one fuel stop/pub/eatery around half way. It was a dream day at around 23C

Yes, I knew your opinion of TC and was just baiting you a bit, in a friendly manner of course. I use mine more than you, but not by much.

HaHa! You and I like the same bikes. What happened to the new Versys 650?

Need help, guys!!

I'm having trouble wiring the Eastern Beaver ABS shut-off switch for the bike.

All I can get so far is a complete shut-off when I hook up the wires. I read the instructions that came with the cable. It certainly seems straightforward, but the male plug I found "around the POS terminal" seems to control the ground for the entire harness, and I lose all power! There must be another plug I'm not seeing!

Is there a wiring diagram, or pictures, somewhere?

Thanks!

haven't yet done this but want to soon - you'll be a popular man when you get it right. Good luck!
Please keep us informed.

Hey Oly, here is a link on Stromtroppers. http://www.stromtrooper.com/dl1000a-...ing-abs-2.html

looks to be that the disconnect happens at the abs motor not the abs valve is the trick. Hope this helps I have some shop time today I'll crack the manual and see if I can find the info we'll all be looking for at some point...
