What's this red plug that isn't connected? On that note, anyone have a repair manual that is more in depth than the owners manual?
    Thanks

I don't know if that's it, but there are two pre-wired accessory power supplies behind the headlight. One switched and one not. In the big threadfest they say they're fuses 8 and 9.

I have those two accounted for, they are down in the bottom of the pic, getting wired for GPS, Powerlet and heated grips.

What are you using to bolt your turn signals on without the stock light surround?

Stock bracket mounts to the top triple and holds the blinkers and the little dashboard/idiot lights. Does the headlight shroud hold them on yours?

I believe the red plug is for an optional remote set of buttons mounted on the handlebars to control the speedo/trip computer.

Thanks GGoose. The wiring diagram was one of the main goals. I'll try and trace the plug at some point soon.

I looked at the schematic, best I could come up with was a diagnostic connector, but the wires don't all match. :scratch

2nd choice would be plug in connector for accessories...

cant really see what color all the wires in your pic are but it looks like theres a blue one, the blue wires all seem to go to sensors of some sort. Could be one of the throttle position sensors

I'm at work, but from memory the wires were white, white/red, brown, and blue/red. I'll double check tomorrow.

    I am doing a write up here> http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516471

I think I'll put it on the radiator shroud near where it meets the seat.

Yeah, when I took off my headlight/surround for the Trailtech the blinkers were attached to it!

Do you still have the old, stock set-up? I'd be interested. PM if you want to work something out.

I'm picking up an '07 690 SM tomorrow, in a fly in, ride back affair from Houston, TX...to Springfield, MO.

I'd "like" to add a 12v socket to the bike, and will need to do this after purchasing, in a parking lot somewhere. What I need to know, is what type of ends are on these accessory wires? Are they male/female bullet connectors?

I'd like to pack the correct materials at home for a plug 'n play....

Photos or description would be awesome!

    Hey fire_storm,

i just posted this, this morning on the 690 mega thread:

Hey Seth, I have a 2010 690 up here in Canada and i just installed the KTM Tripmaster switch for a 2005 EXC, the part number is 54814073000. It is a total plug and play switch and it provides access to a stop watch/lap timer and on "Trip 2" setting allows you to increase or decrease the trip meter manually by tenths of a KM (or mile) and you can scroll through the different displays without taking your hand off the grip.

As i was typing I started thinking that you have a 2008? With the cluster combined with a tach? so this is probably no use to you But if it is, than for $60.00 you can have a second, back up "ICO" trip meter.

I started looking into this from another inmate somewhere in this thread, but there wasn't anything saying that it worked on North American 690's so thought I would just throw it out there that it does work......

That red plug is where this switch connects
