One day ride in Northern Japan

I'm puzzled by your ride route and your elevation profile. It seems a majority of your ride was up and back and so a majority of your elevation profile should be a mirror image. Perhaps the elevation profile was only of the loop at the end?

Dirklod, the gps track points are spaced by time, I set the iPhone to record one point every 10 seconds. There are lesser points for highway per km as distance is covered quickly vs the mountain roads. The graph itself places the track points on x axis linearly and at equal scaling. Hence the elevated profile looks expanded. The elevation is mostly the loop off expressway
