    Ivan,

Did you do the work on that fantastic bike? or did you get it like that from HPN or similar?

I want to put a front end like that on mine but I am saving and waiting. I can place a WR426 front end on for under $1000 , may be a bit light though (spring rate etc).

    Hi Ivan,

Yep..... you have a grand bike.... I actually have a pic of it next to some water, with the same dirt you have on this thread, as my screensaver... LOVE IT...!!!!
And when the time comes, in the new house, it will be great to build something like it.

Build the bike myself, with the exception of some parts.
Rear wheel was spoked by Haan Wheels in the netherlands, and the fork yokes are made by Gletter ( www.gletter.de )

When you change the front forks, keep in mind that you should try to "lift" the rear of the bike also, to avoid the "chopper" effect. also keep in mind that by using a longer fork, you put more stress on the frame. ( i reinforced mine )

Sorry, different dirt, this is Belgium dirt, the other one was a mixture of Frech/Spanish dirt...

Reminds me, I must look at the Q-Tech site again. Some good stuff.

Seems like many european G/S and non-GS off-road conversions with monolever. Maybe a cheaper alternative to replacing the old paralever with a new paralever.

That bumblebee has what I want -- a normal headlight and speedo and rev counter. I've got the 7" headlight shell, ordered a Cibie H4 lens/reflector, but I wish I could find a small speedo like that, the same size as the small BMW rev counter. I'll probably have to use a cycle speedo but there's the problem of backlighting so you can see it at night.

That last bike has an interesting exhaust. That sure gets it out of the way and solves a few problems. But it's got some sort of custom airbox to make it possible. Getting a good Y-piece is almost impossible, I'm even thinking of having 2 exhausts.

Is it already somewhere in the www? If so, right click on top of the pick and choose Properties. Then copy the Adress(URL).

Does anyone know what it takes to put a 11XX paralever on a R100GS. HPN and the bikes posted here use the 1100 parts so there must be an ease of conversion using that series. I have a winter project bike that I would like to build and any help would be appreciated. I've only owned airheads so I'm just not familiar with the interchangeability of oilhead parts. Thanks.

I'm afraid it is not as simple as you think...

    1. R11XX swingarm is not as wide as the original one, so you have to weld a threaded flange at the left side of the frame.

    2. You will need some sort of sub-frame that will support your central shock, and still allows you to remove your battery.

    3. Different types of cardan shaft. You need an adaptor to fit the R11XX cardan to your airhead gearbox.

    4. Custom build rear wheel, spoked out of center.

Probably you will combine this with bigger front forks, so you will have to consider frame reinforcements.

Good luck with your project !
