Eu only huh. No way it would be here in time for my build. Oh well I will save it for the next project and follow the thread. Count me IN for another second gear and a 5th gear !!

Quick update. I thought I had a line on the gear from Japan and had a guy confirm the correct number of teeth and well...

You know what happened in Japan so that avenue is closed for now...

I haven't had anyone knocking down the door, so i guess this just isn't going to happen, at least not now.

I am in for a 5th gear. I sent PM's. Even if it's not a "group buy" I need to find out how to get one of these

Well, I'm glad to see that others were working on this too. Thanks, much appreciated. Perhaps when things improve over there that avenue will open up again. I'm not in a hurry to split my cases, which I won't do until next winter at the earliest. Unless the bikes develop a problem this coming season.:rofl

Well it's not in my hands but a local trials bike shop had an account in England. So I game home the part number and he has the fifth gear on the way. Still a week and a half out but I'll keep you posted

Please do, I'd be interested in finding out how much you paid for it. Maybe we could do a group buy through the trials shop.

I was in Germany last month and stopped at 2 Honda shops, they were both very helpful. And there is no 5th gear to be found in the EU, I wish I could get one.

Hey guys I had to join because I too would love to be able to get my hands on a 2nd and 5th gear for my '01 XR650L. I can get the 2nd gear in Canada but the 5th gear is no where to be found. Anyone know where I can order one online?

The 2nd gear I can get but the 5th gear is not listed at any of the dealers I talked to. Can someone tell me where in North America they got the 5th gear.

On a side note: This is bugging the hell out if me. Can someone comment as to how the heck the tooth count on one gear can be changed without changing its mated gear or center-center distance of the 2 shafts? I can't help but think the gear teeth are not meshing fully. Can someone explain?

    Here is the 2nd gear
    http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/products/310347-honda-23421-mn9-010-hard-parts-gear-16t

The point of this thread is that you CAN'T get the 5th gear in North America. We're trying to get it at a reasonable cost from somewhere else in the world.
