I wanted to share this since we all have the burden of having to have tire repair kits and tools.

And plus it will not spill oil or bad fumes all over you box and food.

Theres a website that has that and several other items for sale that starts with a "T" that sells that in the states.

Couldn't find anything on the "T" site that looked like this box.

Wow, I like that alot, even with a steep price tag.

My only "farkle" I have done so far is a $13 dollar tank protector. It's about time I buy something expensive for my GS.

Another company makes a very similar one...
I've been lusting for other box which is a near replica of this box (or is this box a near replica of the other one?)
I started a thread asking about people's experience with the other one...

I have one concern about this box, will the hinged door hang up against the turn signal?
If you look at this install, the bike has the small LED turn signals, if you have the stock US one, there may be a clearance issue...

The door on the other product isn't hinged, its plug type design..

I dont know about the later one .The fender is told to be taken off before installing the box and then mabe meant to be putt back on. I dont know about that box.

I've been looking at that space on my bike, thinking of making a box to fit in there, and now I see that somebody has already done it!

One more potential clearance issue: the charcoal canister protrudes into that space on my bike, and I don't think European bikes have that stupid thing, so I wonder if that was considered in the design of this box?
My bike is an 1150, so if the canister has moved elsewhere on the 1200, that's a moot point, as it also is if you do a canisterectomy!

I don't speak his language :huh but you get the idea of the box dimensions and it's construction.

Ok that is a nice tool box. Here is a not as nice but put the 180 dollars to beer and you will be even. They are made out of 3 inch sewer pipe. The caps have 1/4 in birch plywood glue inside for support and the the pulls are just you run of the mill cabinet pulls.


Right now i have them attached with a couple of straps and a gear clamp. They stay nice and stead (so far) but am working on better attachment.





All in all i have about 15 buck into these. i used gorillia glue to hold one end cap on and the plywood in the caps.

Small one has 3/8 socket wrench 3 tire irons hand pump pug tools torx allen keys and a few other i cannot think of yet.

Bottom has sockets. torx sockets, multimeter, patch kit, spare bulbs tye wraps, spare nuts and bolts plus a few other odds n sods
