Covering my butt on this one. I figure someone will try hauling gasoline without it secured and loose a bottle into the rear wheel at 90mph. It doesn't matter how idiot proof it's built, somewhere there's a better idiot.

Good thinking, Dualsport, really good thinking. I am going out to measure the seat on my Husky. If someone manufactured DOT approved 2 liter gasoline bottles, it would be even cooler.
try MSR,a camping outlet ,they used to have red fuel bottles for coleman fuel for backpacking stoves. they are spun aluminum,and good for high,,kinda pressure,and safty rated for fuel. dont know about gasoline though. roy
MSR bottles are of excellent quality and fine for carrying gasoline (can be used in some of the muti-fuel cookstoves that MSR manufactures), but the largest size they come in is 33oz, roughly 2/3 the diameter of a 2l bottle. I foresee a fitment issue. Cheers----Chris
I have found a supplier of 2 liter pressure pumps. I tested several and found one that is almost no larger than just the cap. It holds pressure without leaking and is cheap. This allows the sweet cheeks bottles to be pumped tight and still left empty to prevent bouncing on the trails. WooHoo, these things make a dirt bike seat feel like a Goldwing.
It's a canvas or nylon dealie that straps over a dirtbike seat. It has pockets to hold two liter pop bottles paralell to the seat making it wider and putting some weight on your thighs and less on your sensitive bits. I think the idea was you could tune the firmness you wanted by how much water you put in. I don't think gas would be a good idea that close to the muffler. :huh I'd like to have one, those of us with TE610's could use something until we get our renazco's built.

I had this on my KLR, it made 400+ mile days not only bearable but enjoyable! I sold it to a fellow inmate. Profound in it's simplicity, brilliant in execution. Best mod ever for a DS that will be ridden on road trips. YMMV.

finally got to use mine this weekend (luckily, most my rides have not been asphalt-intensive so it wasn't needed ). I have to say, for any ride where I'll be on the bike for over 20 miles on pavement, this thing will be under me arse - it works that well!
