Years ago, I came across a little, hand-written sign in the main library at Auburn. It read:

"These shelves, like the stadium seats, are empty. At least we're trying to fill the stadium seats."

Of course, in the same library, 3rd floor men's bathroom, just above the 4th urinal, in the grout between two tiles, someone else had written:

"It's amazing how small people can write"

Speaking only for myself, I could never figure out how small people could even reach the pencil sharpener.

Charlie Strong is now the 7th highest paid football coach in the NCAA. Link

3.7 Million to play an ACC schedule.....no wonder he turned down rockytop.

That's a lot of money for what I would normally consider a mid-major level program....despite their inspired Sugar Bowl performance. I will be pulling for them to tear up the ACC though....assuming it survives the coming round of realignment.

Ok people do try to keep up. Let's stick to the important conferences. Namely the Mountain West. Yes sirs, and lady, Boise State after putting thumbscrews to the MWC management returned. Many of the changes in revenues that BSU forced through I think may benefit the conference in the long run. Should encourage the up and comers.

The MWC then turned and made San Diego State sweat. I believe there was hope- real or not- that maybe the MWC could pluck SMU, Houston or Tulsa (or all three) from the Big East.

The MWC now has 12 teams with the return of the wayward children. Ok Boise State, is only a recently adopted child, but we were still pretty fond of the tyke.

Now it is divided into two 6 team divisions--
