Star offers it (passenger seat and pegs) as an add on package for 200 bucks retail. The Bolt and r-spec use different parts because of the shocks, so you just have to buy the right one. There's a passenger backrest (tall and short) and all kinds of stuff available via Star
Thread gets punted and you come back in the new thread with monetary policy commentary - are you daft?
Ill repost this here since this may actually turn into a useful thread. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I got to test sit a Bolt this weekend. Yamaha had a demo truck in Charleston and I went to ride the FJR and Tenere. They had a Bolt there that caught my eye but unfortunately it wasnt available to ride. It was a green R-Spec with the piggyback reservoir rear shocks. It looked and felt like a production bike but it wasnt available to ride or start, just look at and sit on. I didnt take a picture but it looked just like what I have seen on the web. The fit and finish looked great but the only aesthetic blemish (to me) was that the frame tubes looked a little skinny. I have no idea what their diameter is and Im sure they are engineered to work but it just caught my eye.<o></o> The Bolt fit me (Im 5 8 with 30 inseam) pretty well with everything in a fairly comfortable position except the air filter cover on the right side stuck out into where my leg/knee wanted to be. Other than that the ergos were really good and the bike looked like a great, simple bike. <o></o> I see the resemblance between the Bolt and the Harley Iron. I do like the look of the Harley Iron for daily riding (Terrytoris looks great) but the Iron was not comfortable to me. I have a Harley Ultra Classic that I really like for touring and daily commuting. I found the Ultra Classic design to be much more than the sum of the parts so Im sure that the Iron is that way for some people but the Bolt just fits me better. Im looking forward to riding one.
Does anyone else think the muffler is ugly? I guess Yamaha didn't put too much work into it knowing most want to change to aftermarket. People aren't happy these days unless they can swap an exhaust. Not sure why this is...
Star is giving away a Bolt. Can't win if you don't play. https://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/feedback/yamaha_giveaway2.aspx?ev=14Star
The first Bolt megathread was derailed by a lot of political b.s. and has been punted to the JM: CSM forum. Let's keep this thread for inmates who are interested in this bike.. If you have nothing positive to contribute, move on. Mocking douchebaggery and needless dickery will earn you a vacation. If in doubt, read the posted rules.
I'm not crazy about the can. The upper pipes aren't too bad. They did an interesting treatment with this customized model at the release par-tay. This pic also shows some of the Star accessories, like the brass swingarm cap, machined pegs, and finned engine cover.
I think the muffler looks good. Not a large torpedo, and it doesn't stick out past the back of the rear tire like some cruisers.
