    We are back on!!!!

This has switched to a no thrills event because of this and that you don't care to hear about.
Show up to ride and just have fun.

    When: May 9-11

    Location: Crawfords Campground Murphy, NC
Use a map, not GPS!!! It's off Hanging dog and cannot be missed once you turn on Hanging Dog

--Friday Kickstands up 9:45am EST most likely earlier
    Guided Ride(s)

    --Saturday
    Guided Ride(s)
    -Knucking Futs
    -Middle Earth
-Scavenger Hunt(Maybe)... Follow the clues to claim your prize at dinner

Scavenger Hunt- you will be given a set of clues at base camp, from there follow the clues as best as you can to locate certain checkpoints that have either items or information. The goal is to collect what you feel is important to present at dinner to see if you've won!

Ladies choice ride ( Probably tagging along with the Friday Group )
Lot's of patience and plenty of mellow riding. Please plan on:
Joe Brown over towards Tellico Plains( TellicoMotorcycleOutfitters RIP), Conasaga Falls, aka.. happy trails with lots of out an backs for the adventure lovers, some creek crossings and maybe some Trail 82.

Riders skill- Bring your cameras gentle folk.... This one is all about show. No it's not a trials course, I will have a sectioned off area that will require: skill, patience, balance, flexibility, and even some Al Tuna in you to complete.

Rides are designed to be fun! My first Beaver I had 3 guys helping me push my KLR where it had no business going. Relax and have fun. I and several others are more than happy to ride/push/stare at your bike if you do not wish to:
    Go down a hill
    Cross a creek
    Go over a log

    Working out some final details,

    Disclaimer:
Ride your own ride and I suggest you not come. I take no responsibility in anything you do, say, or come to have happen to you. You are in sound mind not to even think of reading this or attending. ADVRider, Tukata, and Murphy have nothing to do with you.

I'm new to ADV, but not to motorcycling. I'm very interested in this rally, Moto Madness and Ricks Eastern Rendezvous. I'm still modifying my 05 DR650. I have side racks, top rack on order. Now I need to decide on what saddle bags to order. Once I have the bike set up an am able to carry clothing, gear, tools, etc I will confirm.

    welcome
fyi you wont want boxes/pannier at this rally..
    just good tires :deal...

i just bolted up pelican boxes to side and top rack on klr 650= some of those panniers are $$$$$$ but the pricey ones pop-on-an-off easy.. mine takes a bit more to take off..

and yes count me as IN..

Not going hard bags, I'm going Wolfman soft luggage, just trying to decide which ones. They have the Expedition full on waterproof bags, and the Monarch Pass bags which are just water resistant. There is quite a difference in price.

I hope Cole can make this one so he can finish the "Point Of No Return". He made it past the hardest parts but we had to turn around because others couldn't make it. This ride is no joke.

The last time we "dropped in" we ended up pulling 9 bikes back up the drop in hill with a tow strap. It took hours, but if we had kept going we would have been stuck in the woods overnight. It gets harder, not easier. :evil

I don't think Pete has attempted the "PONR", but I'm pretty sure he's done Hamburger Hill, Humbler Hill, Bell Mountain and attempted Pike's Peak. Nobody makes it up Pike's Peak unless we have had many weeks of drought conditions because they always fall victim to the "Slick Rock" about 3/4 of the way up.
