Ah, the standard 5 - 7 - 5 haiku. If you check Wikipedia you will find there are several classic variations on this, most interesting. I might attempt one or two at the rally, if the attendees feed me enough creative substances.:evil

Ah so, Godzirra-san... :wave quite true; the syllabic ("on") definition that of Wikipedia your observation is... but also the poems season defined must be and juxtaposition of two subjects achieved... if the essence ("cutting") of Haiku tradition is to be attained... :getiton

Creative substances...? saki with beer chasers works! :evil

You're catching on there Troy, I find it all rather culturally engrossing. I can feel a spiritual journey to Edo in my future. Devilish clever these orientals.
I wonder if they have a market for a haiku manga?:hmmmmmI bags the rights to the anime.

I know that we share an affinity for another animated muse of some repute Silla'.

Maybe you can work on producing a syndicated publication of the first "Fred Gassit" Haiku series... :lol3:rofl

That's probably go over real well in Tokyo... whaddya' reckon? :lol3 :ear

Hmmm. You've got me thinking now (BIG mistake there Troy).
A Fred Gassit manga, written in Haiku. There could be a potential goldmine in that - if the Nipponese actually get Fred that is. I wonder what Mr. O'Leary thinks of the idea?
The Fred artwork is Hanna-Barbera derivative, but superimpose it over traditional manga backgrounds and it just might be a hit with our oriental bike builder friends.
I just struggle with the Japanese and some of the Fred thought patterns, though Roosty and Hedgy would translate fairly easily - and Gran too.
The Japanese do understand the concept of a derro though. The film Big Man Japan demonstrates their grasp of a down-and-out occasional hero character, and the ability to laugh at oneself.
    I'm thinking.............:scratch
