nutshell review please

On the model in the picture you've got to have the wheels turning faster than 80 mph to keep the exhaust from heating up your backside. I had it in Dallas city traffic and it was brutal. Once on the freeway I let the big dog eat and it's unreal...definitely not a motorcycle for the unskilled or timid. The noise that thing makes when you're on the gas is pure sex.

I was ripping along with it and a small voice inside my head was telling me "you do know you're on a $72,000 motorcycle..." (I've seen them at $49,000 since the picture was taken). The owner of this bike is a very close friend and he's got two of them..one being a later model with the exhaust re-routed to address the seat heating issue.

I'm trying to talk him into taking both bikes to the Texas Mile and trying to break the sound barrier.

ya having one at the track would be something else..... keep that wheel greased!!!

Yeah, I love the sound of an uncorked v-twin. I'm always scrambling to roll down my window to hear some kind of motor.

Yesterday, I got to watch a guy who was about 5'2" tall kick start a 50s Harley of some sort. It didn't sound good (potato, potato, potato), but the guy had no problem getting it started using 110% of his weight. He was a gnarly looking dude, too.

I did get to ride a Aprilia Tuono 1000 R, it looks the part but at 123hp. it waz disapointing

On the topic of Liter bikes and turbo, who here thinks that Turbo-Charging one of these thing would be a good idea? Thing is already making 192hp with that Akropovic Exhaust, and weighs a little bit under 190kg, so it already has a 1:1 power to weight ratio. I think a turbo would be great idea, or a terrible one, or both.

The first year they brought an RSV-4 to Laguna Seca, it was set up in the pits, we were drooling over it, then some random Aprilia dude got on, started it up, and was motoring away; this would be in the market place, on the road that parallels the straight between T2 & T3.

And there goes my friend, on the phone to her husband who couldn't make it that year- "HONEY- LISTEN! and is trying to run behind the bike while holding the phone next to the exhaust..."

Hm. I think that was the year I got kicked out of someone's booth for feeling up the mannequins. Stupid vendors take themselves way too seriously sometimes. I mean, experience has taught me to expect to get asked to leave Macy's for that, but a vendor booth at a racetrack? Sheesh.

I know a guy who has an RSV4R. he said it's absolutely unmanageable in the city unless you have every rider aid set to maximum, and on the highway, he can hit 100 in 1st. he's selling it because it scares the shit out of him, actually. he's not a new rider, by any means, either.
