I damaged a rear wheel on my '01 1150GS.I bought a new rim from a dealer and it has some discoloration of clear coat, like a stripe or line across the rim.
there are no visible cracks.I called dealer and they said that's normal.
did any body see any thing like that?
    thanks
    I couldn't attach pictures.

Probaby where it was welded together. Look inside the rim for grinder marks to see if they line up with that stripe you mention.

I think that is the weld line. The aluminum laced wheel is a piece of extruded aluminum that is bent into a circle and then butt welded. It is factory that way. Mine has it.
