Using a Y connector up by the carbs. Instead of the cross connection , Won't some fuel be trapped in one side when air is drawn out the other ? or am I over thinking this ? Paul
You might leave a few onces behind, but not enough to offset the convenience of removing the crossover. Of course, with quick disconnects the crossover doesn't seem like such a drag anymore... .
Pretty big difference from the first prototype to the final plug... <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/powercell/7858888710/" title="photo by PowerCell, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8436/7858888710_23e4aec4bd_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="photo"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/powercell/8137370403/" title="photo by PowerCell, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8333/8137370403_872d550281_c.jpg" width="478" height="800" alt="photo"></a>
Looks like some added volume in the section under the front of the seat. How is it to get the seat on? I see the rearmost corners got a little angle added too. Is that more volume added to the bottom edge of the tank? I'm excited!
Yup... trying to maximize the amount of fuel to the rear most of the bike. The front bevels were added to increase the strength and stiffness of the tank where it protects the radiator, and allow the bike to slide on its side when the bike goes down without damaging the tank. .
So...to be a pest...are we looking at a Thanksgiving gift or possibly a Christmas time frame gift on these? Anxious riders await. It is looking really sweet Ken and I can confirm that I am done with my stock SE seat...what a freakin' rock that thing is. A few years ago when I rode it last it didn't even register on the matters scale but now...that seat has got to go. Send me some farkles...and a really nice larger fuel tank! I'm just wondering aloud here but is the grey color shown on the plug a possibility for a final tank? I kinda dig it.
As you know, we're expectedly running a bit behind. I spoke with the pattern shop last Friday and asked for a close ball-park for when we can be in plastic. He said 3 weeks is about right... so it looks like right around the Thanksgiving holiday. On a positive note; I did finally get all the back-ordered KTM parts in stock, so we're ready to begin shipping shortly after getting the tanks molded... .
