Electric trials bike riding in Spain. The extension cord must have been a long tangled mess after that ride! <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RbECu2fnnMo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That's pretty cool. I'd like to know more about it. What kind of range? If it's going to go into production? Looks like the current Pro chasis.
Nice video. Trials bikes do seem to be good fits for "electrification"...being so light and having minimal range/duration requirements compared to other types of bikes. I love the quiet stealthy nature of these e-bikes, which could really open up a whole new world of riding opportunity!
Probably the only thing that could convince me to buy a new trials bike is the avalability of a quality, full size, electric bike like that.
Brammo just announced a strategic partnership to incorporate a six-speed transmission in their latest e-bike lines. If such a powertrain can be developed and kept light enough, the possibilities for trials and other off-road machines are expanding. The value of a tranny for trials is 1) the extended range for riding a loop, and 2) the ability to retain a flywheel and clutch control of engine power. I've seen how much harder it is to balance a dead-engine bike (or bicycle) without flywheel inertia to help stability.
Needs to be stealth black, 6 speed urban assault trials bike. University of New Mexico campus, about 3 AM, electric trials-land ballin' I've known parents to put a playing card on a thier wheel because the kids want some noise as well as an aid in locating them when they just ride off.
