This is what became known last year as "The Heckling Wall". It separates the HQ hotel in Mexicali parking lot from the grass in front of the highway.

I'm announcing that it will be the official ADV meet up spot this year. :freaky

You can also see it clearly on this Google Maps street view.

    See you there!

I spoke to Aaron on the phone the other day, he said he won't make it this year, unfortunately.
Looking forward to meeting everyone, I'm bringing a bunch of non-adv monkeys.

I plan on making a drive by on my way to SF. Bike's not ready, I'm not ready, money's not ready. I'll be down in SF when you guys come through so I can wave my genitals at you all.

Mike and Aaron most likely won't be here this year... speaking of genitals.

I may have a Support truck in San jaun Nico to dump gas for a few bike riders that need it.This is on Day two in SS2.This is the longest stage of the event that you can not pit your self
I am working out the details and will post it tomorrow
(Thinking $50 a head) includes 3 gal of gas

This is the only remote pit I will be using. the rest can be done by your support truck or Pemix stations.
let me know if you may want in.

We will take you up on this......or team up with you on it and send one of our chase trucks out to San Juanico. I assume you're going to take 53 out to the crossing?

This has always confused me Why mag 7 or baja pits doesn't just offer a fuel only option, obviously they are missing the boat. If you want fuel it cost you $700! Looks like there's a niche to be filled. And money to be made!

You can do mag seven pits emergency only which is gas only for $400
    Plus the price of gas
The only reason I am doing San Juan Nico
Is a buddy of mine lives there and that is the only place that I need to get gas
My support truck can take care of me the rest of the time

I bet they tried that in the past. Then one of the fuel-only customers came in and needed wrenching. Then I imagine one of two things happened:

    1) They stepped up to help wrench, and then the guy never came back later and paid for the support that he ended up using.

    2) The didn't help, and the guy got all pissed off, and then told everyone how they were a bunch of jerks.

Either situation probably resulted in the guys at MAG7 saying "Well, that BS totally isn't worth it."

My understanding from those guys last year is that the organization basically covers costs. How many trucks? Going how many thousand miles? Fuel for them all? Lodging for them? Food for them? Tires every once in a while? Repair bills for crazy stuff?

I know we're all wicked smart on the internet... but if there was really a bunch of easy money in supplying fuel only, a crafty desert fox surely would have figured that out already. :evil

Do a great job at all the races the support
    It is NOt cheep!!
They spend a ton of time and money for the love of the sport
In thus rally format you can do 99%
Of the support with one truck per racer
IF you set your bike up with the Right amount
of fuel capacity And depending on the miles per gallon you can get
For example I am Carrying 5.8 gallons of gas so I'm good for 200 miles max
    At full race speeds.
At the typical score race the pits are 45-55 miles apart
And at 65 miles most bikes are bone dry

Oh well thats news to me. My understanding was Emergency Service did not include the option of also ordering fuel. This is from their website and it is written as though if you want fuel, you pay full service...which I did for two years, btw.
