Looking for a good consistant cup of coffee. Consumer Reports says that Caribou is there top rated. I have found Fourbucks to be inconsistant in strengh and taste from bag to bag. Im going to try Caribou next but need some ideas of brand of beans. If this is a big repeat please point me in the right dirrection. Thanks
I use the Jet Boil Java kit. I just carry my cup and essentials. THen boil the water use the french press after it steeps for a few minutes and viola! coffee just like at home. http://jetboil.com/Products/Cooking-Systems/Personal-(PCS) I have made perfect pots off coffee even in rainstorms. Nothing gets your spirits up like a good cup of JOE!
This is the only coffee I've bought more than one bag of. There are probably other good coffees out there but this one has a smooth and flavorful taste that I like. I drink it black, and I'm particular about my coffee. I'm open to trying more coffees, but I've tried all the different ones at the local grocery and consider myself lucky to be able to get this stuff.
Have you tried looking for a local coffee roaster? They're popping up more and more in even moderately sized cities. The local places here are excellent.
Hm well I haven't tried Yuban or Hills Bros. I'll give 'em a shot. Wish they came in smaller sizes in case I have one cup and do a spit-take.
I like varity and buy all sorts of different stuff. As far as plain coffee goes I do like the dunken grounds/beans pretty well - they are cheep too
Yuban, Hills Bros... oh my. I'll take my caffeine headache over that swill anyday. Try Stumptown or Ristretto Roasters.
I find the most consistent are the specific source varieties, pick your favorite from those. My favorite is Starbucks Sumatra, but YMMV. Roasting your own does give you the freshest coffee--but it isn't easy. You need to have a little bit of skill and a lot of attention to detail to keep it consistent.
Seems like so many riders are coffe lovers too... OK tried it on a lark... but it is my all time favorite.... name is funny...coffee is fantastic and how they produce it is even better story.. www.Larrysbeans.com Guaranteed you won't be disappointed... on line or specialty retailers.. My fav of what I can get around here is Starbucks Yukon but haved found it not to be consistant so have started looking elsewhere.
This is my personal favorite place. The Blend 101, House, and Major Dickason's Blend are the best, IMHO. I take a French press on trips and enjoy better coffee than I do at home. http://www.peets.com/fvpage.asp?rdir=1&
