    True. BUT:

Lorenzo has the highest points per start average AND he had all the aliens to contend with, the whole time.

You can make the excuse that Rossi was on the lame Duc, but Stoner won on it. :deal

Not arguing with either. Honestly Lorenzo who I am not a fan of is likely the top alien all things being considered.

So I take it you're not an alien if you won a race before 2006?

Not a fan of his either. Very technical, but also kinda boring... er... not very exciting?

    Can't deny his record though.

My biggest critique of Lorenzo, is that he doesn't really seem to enjoy his achievements.

Oh yes, he celebrates, but it seems hollow somehow. He waves his arms, jumps around and pumps his fist, but it always seems overly contrived or hollow.

I've tried to cheer for him, but something always leaves me feeling flat. He's missing the "it" factor that other riders have hooked me with over the past few decades.

If Rossi is within striking distance to Lorenzo, 2013 is gonna be epic. Oh, but there's the other "if", that they both stay healthy. 2010 was already shaping up an epic season, then Rossi broke the leg.

The most memorable races from the 800 era, for some reason Rossi is almost always there in the fight. Dunno why "the others" don't create the same level of entertainment. This year Lorenzo&Pedrosa did produce a few good duels, though.

Quite true. And another reason stats don't tell the whole story..

I got a laugh while watching the Phillip Island race where the big news was that it was Stoner's last race on his home turf. Everybody was cheering on Stoner for a goodbye, as well as him winning the race by a mile. The second big news was Lorenzo officially clenching the 2012 title after Dani crashed out, but nobody seemed to care besides him. At the awards ceremony, when the riders were ready to spray each other down with champagne, Casey and Cal kind of looked at each other like "Where the fuck did Jorge go?" And the camera panned down to the paddock where Lorenzo was trying to stage his own celebration party. It seemed to mostly consist of his crew, and even they seemed like they were only excited because they were supposed to be.

I don't have anything against Lorenzo, but he doesn't really excite me either. Lorenzo is like the Al Gore of MotoGP--all the credentials are there, but he's got no personality to back them up.

So let's pretend this is true. Does this mean that Rossi may not get full co-operation from the Yamaha racing division? Like maybe some parts are only available to Lorenzo? That could mean they aren't on equal footing and Val has a reason why Lorenzo is ahead of him. :dunno Maybe if Lorenzo was more marketable he wouldn't have accept Rossi on his team next year. Lornezo needs to work on looking more excited when he wins maybe? :dunno

Great job, but to his audience I say become a supporting member. A supporting member I say. That means subscribe... Short money and it is worth it many times over. Plus you can plunk him with confidence when he has overstepped your sensitivities! :D

I kinda feel bad for the guy. He tries to play the clown to fill the shoes of Rossi because that's what's expected of a champion now. He has to feel pressure to manufacturer these shows because that's what Rossi has made people think is proper for a winner.
