    Either
    1) Store fuel in there in a bladder.
    2) Store A helmet or cameras etc in there.

You can't store a helmet or cameras in a normal tank.

But on the other hand the 14Litres should get you about 350km, which is about the same as a GS. / Vee / S10, assuming the 70MPG (I will assume imperial) is in anyway typical.

Doesn't sound too bad to me really. It looks like it may get 700km with the bladder option.

    :huh

They could have at least stretched to 17 litres, a theoretical 300 miles to a tank.

This is like the metrosexual scooter design team decided to make an AR bike for a tv reality show.

If that X-tourer would lose the beak (like on one of the pics floating around here) and the exhaust would be higher up, it'd look smashing IMHO.

I am just back from EICMA. Honda was ONLY manufacturer to display bikes isolated from public.
Even MV Agusta guys let people sit on their bikes.

My prize to worst presence on EICMA goes to Honda. It really feels like they do not want to do bikes anymore.
    Shame.

I suspect it isn't a case of Honda not wanting to do bikes anymore, it's more about where the real money is to be made in bike production now, and it's not in producing high end bikes for the developed world. It's in producing cheap, basic transport for the citizens of emerging nations. I suspect Honda are selling more units world wide now than at any other time in their history.

For instance, why bother trying too hard to make cruisers for the US market? Let Harley have the bulk of the market, we don't need the grief. Who cares about selling cruisers by the thousand when we can be selling entry level bikes by the million in Asia? Establish a good name and as the market grows for "leisure" bikes we'll grow with it too. The future is countries like China and India, not the US. These new 700c twins aren't aimed at the US, they're aimed at Europe and to a certain extent Asia.

The numbers might not be so clear cut. Honda may need to sell more than 20 CG125's to make the same profit they would make by selling one cross-tourer.

700 cc bike cannot be possibly aimed at Asia. Way too much.
1200 cc cannot be aimed at Asia.

Hornet 600 outsold lot of other bikes in Europe. Because it was opposite principle bike.
    Etc.
I have seen more BMW on road in last 3 years than I saw in previous 10.
I see 8 italians on our parking at work. 4 Beemers. 1 CBR900 (the original urban tiger) and 1 CB1000 and 1 japanese cruiser. Used to be totally opposite just 3 years ago.
Then I saw number of people on European makes stands vs. Japanese on this EICMA. Left me speechless.
It was virtually impossible to get to Aprilia. Never saw anything like that before.

I agree Honda has lost its way.
But the above spoked wheel bike is (just) ok.

I do not like auto shift motorcycles for various reasons, but in a larger bike like this, off pavement, the auto tranny may slush & slide through technical areas where clutch action could be tough on a heavy bike.
Just like rock crawler 4x4's have gone auto.
    I hate auto in a 4x4 too...

Did I say I hate auto shifting?

I've also heard talk that it'll get 70+ mpg (good!) and that it'll be about 50hp and 500lbs (really bad!):huh

Query - I've read its limited to 50hp and will get 70+ mph - will simply (or maybe not so simply!) changing the ECU/FI mapping increase the HP? A good friend has a KTM 690 SM, he purchased a ECU/chip with new FI mapping and opened the pipe and now that baby ROCKS - just wondering if something similar can be done with this bike. My XR650R was limp as a wet noodle directly from Honda - but re-jetting and opening the intake and exhaust brought mucho smiles!

Time will tell. It is rated 48 bhp, and may be ECU will help to make it 52 (read: invest in expensive version of Powercommander) but no powercommander will help to skin 220 kg of weight

470lbs and 48Hp. There, not so bad after all. :lol3

Look, it gets 70MPG (claimed). It has a boot (trunk) in the tank. So no, you are not going to go drag racing BUSA's with much success but, stick a bladder in the glovebox and you could get 700km (car range) without refueling.
It also has car power to weight. 130Kw per metric tonne. (with rider)

That sort of makes the equivalent of a 390Kw (520HP) SUV or a 182Kw (250Hp) Corolla.

It should be pretty usable. Not super exciting but definitely usable.
