I stopped by on the new Burgman to say hi on Thursday (July 25) and she is doing fine. She said Jeaneace is also doing well.

Introducing the "new" Burgman to Rella's.

    Mmmm... fresh graham cracker pie!

I get the first slice. :D

Nice dessert after a hearty burger.

    Rella likes scooters! :evil

Another photo with Rella to add to my archives. :D

    **********************

For those of you who have never been there, I've added some photos below of past visits. She is located on Rt 20, about a mile south of the lumber mill at Hacker Valley, which is just south of Holly River SP. It's about 20 miles south of Rock Cave. You can call the diner at 304-493-6658. It is truly a unique dining experience. Tell her I said "Hi".

Southbound on Rt 20, it's on your left just south of Hacker Valley.

Now GREAT-GREAT-GRANDMA Rella. Cookin' up a storm for one of our gatherings.

Rella checking with everyone to make sure the food is good. It's always good!

The famous pie fridge - always stocked with home-made goodies.

    Shall we gather?

One of our ADV gatherings. That's Rella in the back (R) with her daughter, Jeaneace (L).

Enjoying the great food and company.

Another day in the pie fridge.

    Mmmmmm....

    And ANOTHER gathering.

    The ADV gang.

    Good food, as always.

    Mmmmm, homemade pie.

    Enjoying a good home-cooked meal.

Just like Mom used to make.

Rella's house burned down in 2011, and we had a gathering for lunch.

Almost all of her belongings were destroyed in the fire.

Our ADV group collected over $1,300 to help Rella through the tough times.

Later that year, she had a trailer moved onto the lot. She is living in there now.

The ADV riders met a group of Canadian riders at Rellas for lunch last year.

Fun, food, and meeting other riders.

And, once again, the pie fridge was full of delicious goodies.

And, once again, great home-cooked food.

Canadian riders, ADV riders, and translators. :d

OK - Please RSVP for Aug 17 or Sept 7 (or both)

Sounds like a good idea pnoman. I can't do the 17th. Youngest granddaughters birthday party.
So I vote for the 7th.

Mike, we've got a group heading that way Aug 17. Even though I can't make the Sept 7 date it gets my vote since two groups over two weekends would probably be better for her.

Good idea. Maybe I will post who's going to be at each one so you can avoid the scooter crowd. Hey wait, I resemble that remark! :rofl

Ooooorrrrrrrrrr........ you could come to both!

Don't want to vote on a date, because my work schedule could kill it at a moment's notice.
But "in" for what ever date is decided.

I'm working Sep 7, it would be nice to see you on the 17th. I think we'll have 10-15 in our group, how much notice should I give Rella?

I told Rella I would call a week out and she said that is plenty of time. Thanks for thinking of it. We want to give her as much notice as possible as to the number of people coming either day.

    How about both dates?

That will hopefully simplify things. I will make a "guest list" (subject to change, of course) so you can see who's coming.

There's nothing wrong with having 2 gatherings. If you can make both - great! If you can only make one, or if your schedule changes, then you can still meet folks. Or if it rains on Aug 17, then we have a backup.

Plus Rella gets to have visitors two times.

    Everyone OK with that?

No problem here. I'm still planning on the 7th. due to the family reunion. Hopefully, the docs will have corrected this medical issue by then so I can ride.

Put Falcon86 and me down for Aug 17. I'm working on some more and will let you know as confirmation is received.

If anyone wants to tag along, some of us will be starting near Frost, WV and going thru Cloverlick and meeting Falcon86 at the Exxon station at the foot of the mountain at Snowshoe.

From there, we will stay on mostly back roads to Monterville, then to Pickens and on to Hacker Valley.

We plan to return by different routes staying on dirt roads as much as possible.
