Is that the factory paint or something you did?

    I really like the look!

It's a "custom" job. Something I did. It was originally red.

I dissassembled the scooter panels, scuffed them up with some fine grit automotive sandpaper, painted them with spray paint and then reassembled it when everything was dry. It's real easy and spray paint does a good job on such small pieces, especially when painting with flat paint. The front panel is el cheapo wal mart flat black and the back two panels were done with some army surplus olive green.

Here's another pic in some better light. This pic was taken before I put the dual sport Kendas on it though. That alone made a nice change from stock.

    +1

I was wondering if it'd be just that easy to paint on/over gloss plastic like that.

    Good to know!

Absolutely beautiful job! You wouldn't think those kind of results are attainable with cans of spray paint. The scoot looks super...

Not sure if I posted these yet, but this was my 1986 Elite 150 Deluxe before I repainted it red... I've also included an "after" shot just before I sold her. The paint is 100% rattle-can Krylon. I miss that damn thing... :(:
