I've managed to get out everyday and burn through a couple of tanks of gas over the past week (on three wheels). Most of the main roads in Fairbanks are pretty clear though the smaller roads are still pretty icy.

Finally got my riding partner and beautiful wife's bike home yesterday. She's got 60 miles on it already and said we can't go home till she hits a 100! Don't threaten me with a good time. Lol here's the top of hatcher. [IMG]

Great photos! You guys are lucky to go ride. We've still got 2" of ice on the driveway and side roads so can't get to the pavement yet. There are some patches breaking through and it looks like at least 4 or 5 more days. This winter is just taking it's time going away...aarghh!

Yeah I know, but I'd need a lot of kitty liter.:rofl Got the Gerbings' but no butt pad. Need to pick one up next time I'm in the big city. If it doesn't melt soon I'll trailer out to the road. Talked to Mark907 this morning and he said he saw you guys. He's in the same boat as me as far as being ice locked from the highway. We're chomping at the bit to ride. We both have new to us bikes this year that we haven't even rode yet at all!

I know no one wants to say this but we need just a little bit of rain to break some of this junk up.

It was really neat meeting Mark yesterday. He just walked up to us and told us to get our bikes off the property and we were getting his bike upset. To funny

Are you the fellow that he is working on the plane with?

Be careful when that ice jam breaks, there is a ton of sand on the road

How are the roads on the way up to Hatcher Pass Lodge? Is there still ice on the road? Is the parking lot clear or icey? I'm going to ride this Saturday and will probably head in that direction if it's not too icey.

Any other FF's wanna ride up? :ear I'll be leaving from Eagle River.

Roads are clear, watch for sand, depending on temperature black ice in shaded areas. You can see in the pictures we were at the upper parking lot and it was clear of ice. Parking lot for A- Frames is messed up ice, park on the dry and walk in. Have fun stay safe watch for cages they really don't know anyone else is on the road yet.

I'd take some rain if it will speed things up. I know the side roads where clear this time last year. I wasn't working with Mark yesterday, it would have been another friend of ours who rides a GSPD. I just fired up my 1974 R90/6 yesterday for the first time after a complete restoration. All I have left to do is the painting.
