week long as much dirt as we can
Hey all,
I looked around some on here but really did not see what I was looking for. Me and some buds are going to try and do a week long ride somewhere in VA,NC, TN during Thanksgiving week. What do we have out there for trail maps and or trip reports that I might look through to formulate a plan. I would love to never touch any pavement for the week but realize it may be tough. I am starting in Southern WV so I can either trailer down there or even start here so any dirty ways to get down there would be welcome also... thanks |

I know this may be a bit broad but give me your favorite trail or road that should not be missed in that area...

Here's a good place to start looking to get you some routes through VA & WV:
The BlueRidgeTrail & The TransWestVirginiaTrail. Good luck!

looking for dirt road mostly stuff that would get me somewhere cool forest service roads or single track that would link up some stuff etc... We are on Klr's so with that in mind. We definitely go places we should not with these big heavys and have fun doing it, so up for whatever. We will be loaded like pac mules for camping so not to nasty I guess...
Thanks |

Happy to help; I've done a portion of both the BRT and the TWVT, and they're fantastic! If interested you can check out the ride reports I put together from those ride by following the link to my ride reports in my sig line; it'll give you an idea of what to expect.

Check out the National Geographic Trail Maps
They show all the FS roads, trails etc. There are several of them that cover the mountains on SC/NC/TN/GA area http://www.amazon.com/Brasstown-Chat...eographic+maps

I like them better than the gazetteer; easier to read and show just as much if not more. If you want to take a look at one before buying it, go to your local Barnes & Moble bookstore, I've bought them there before.
