What do you have? Last year I saw several two strokes that passed. Unless you have no muffler whatsoever, your bike should pass...it's not as tough as it may sound...

I've riden the hooch several times on "Moditfied" MX bikes :evil. I've just purchased a BMW 1200GS cause my back cant take the MX track anymore. Have you guys seen any big bikes like that run the Hooch? I don't wanna bite of more than I can chew with a 500 lb bike.

I have also been thinking about riding this on my 950 Adv and would like to know if any other big bikes do this ride.

A big bike with knobbies could do the whole thing. A big bike not on knobbies would do 90% and just take the big bike options around.

Yep. I have done it on a 950 KTM a couple of times. The only part that I opted out of was the Whissenhunt OHV section (I could have ridden most of Whissenhunt on the 950, but it would not have been fun...). Still, some sections are pretty rocky. A big bike is OK if you have a positive attitude.

Something a new rider would be good with?

Well, not new, riding for many years, but just started "dual sport" last year and most of my offroad has been dirt roads and the occasional mud in it.

I think it would be a great thing, just for the experience...

I say go for it. The only condition that might get squirelly is deep mud, which does happen on some of the route when we experience a bunch of rain. There are always easier bypasses if you want to avoid the tough spots.

Don't let Venturer fool you - he has ridden The Hooch 2-up on his 950.

I plan to attend one of the days this year - probably Saturday. It is always a fun experience and a good opportunity to meet fellow ADVers.

I must say, several years ago, I fell victim to the unstable conditions created when you dump gravel on hard packed clay roads. :eek1 I still wish they wouldn't do that.

    Watch your corner speed.....:evil
