You are exactly correct! I had forgotten about THAT case saver!! :huh

We've had these here as well. Some bikes have something like the Ballard's one built in from stock. My two stroke race bikes did anywhoo.

I just wanted to clarify what was being discussed. Sorry for the confussion!

The multi function instrument is from Whitehorse Press. It attaches with verlcro (included). The wiring is simple; one wire to positive, one wire to negative, and one wire to switched lead. I tapped into the license plate light for the switched lead. It also has a lead with a suction cup attachment you attach where you want to take the temperature from.
I mounted it on a homemade bracket-see pic. Made from some plastic I had laying around. Clamped it between two pieces of metal, heated it with a cigarette lighter, and bent it into shape. Then trimmed it to fit the headlight cover and attached with three screws. I also left some space to the right of the gauge to mount a switch for something in the future. The whole process took about 45 minutes.

The seat from Rick Mayer is made to your specifications. You send him a picture of yourself on the bike along with a questionaire he provides and any comments you have. The down side is it may take a long time to get your seat. You don't send in your seat pan until after you recieve your new seat, so there is never any down time.
After I got mine, I wanted to adjust some things on it. He paid for postage both ways, and I had it back promptly. So that I could keep my stock seat, I bought a used one in the flea market. You can usually pick one up for $10 to $30 dollars in like new condition.

I was leery of the spring upgrades and whether they made much of a difference. I haven't heard any negatives from people who've done the switch and after talking to Fat Chance, decided to spring (pun intended) for it. Since they're already opened up, let's go ahead and throw those Gold valve things in there too...

    Well, there's a big difference. :D
I've been riding around trying to hit all the holes, bumps, cracks, etc. Much smoother, bike stays planted, front end dive is much less violent.

I purchased all the stuff from Jesse in OR and he was very helpful.

Yester day my bike was running great today I put a IMS tank on and now the bike cuts out when you first get on it . I thought the new petcock may not be flowing as much fuel as the old stock one did. I ran up to 90 on the freeway for a mile or so and the bike didn't feel like it was starved for fuel. Why do they run vacume to the stock petcock I just plugged it off with the petcock that came on the ims tank. any thoughts on what might help. If I have to I may put the old tank back on just to see if I still runs right. Thanks Ron

Its great to hear another positive for the new springs..
I've been wondering if its worth while even considering a replacement shock too?

My understanding is that the stock shock is a good one.
And I've heard many horror stories of the hi-$ shocks failing when on extended trips.
I've thought about trying to buy another stock off a low mile wrecked DR and just keep it in reserve.
