Wow, what a ride. A few of us agreed to meet in Fall River to head out and grab the tag together. Well, as we sat in the D'nD, we saw that the tag was moved. So with after a bit of war-room type discussion, we headed to New London Tpke. We entered from 102 and ride South to the tag. Good thing too, if we went the other way, it would have been too easy. The V Strom struggled through the rocks but we stuck together and got to the tag.

    As we entered NL Tpke...

Now, from there we continued South through some great small towns and winding back roads to the eventual placement of the new tag.

Have a nice ride. Notice the elevation, not a mistake.

Oh , and I almost forgot, the tag shot.

We had considered a boat ride, but there is a perfectly good bridge for you to ride across.

Obviously the same puddle as the tag shot, but why such a large discrepancy in GPS co-ords?

Two different formats. One is decimal degrees, the other is in degrees minutes and seconds. You can enter either into the Google Maps search bar if you kow how to format it.

Actually, they are quite different, 41 35.251, -71 39.794 is 1.9 miles away from 41.563165, -71.642742. The former is off I-95, the latter is on New London Turnpike (the actual tag location).

The incorrect one shows the location of the cursor on the screen, not the location of the etrex GPS.

It hardly matters, as the motorcycles were in the right place.

More importantly, the location of the current tag shot is correct.

I know that spot. My buddy Jon's parents live at the other end of that island next door to the house used as Jim Carreys house in the movie "Me, Myself, and Irene"..

[IMG] I thought I had saved the coordinates as a favorite but when I got to Pt Judith and turned the GPS on all it wanted to do was take me home. So I rode around the island, couldn't find it. Had lunch and tried to find it on the GPS. No luck. But on the second time searching my luck changed.

Did you notice the elevation? 3' higher than old tag...that's because it was low tide :huh OK, new tag.[IMG] A pretty good size play area with no difficulty getting to it. Bring your pole Rob.

Funny, I checked on it this morning for the first time in a long while. Funny how a temperature spike makes things happen.

The current tag location is a very fun place! Pity my ghetto GPS wouldn't work for this game :D
