Same with every other machine out there. Of course the pool of Suzuki RE5 fans is much MUCH smaller than the HD crowd BUT they are out there. I wish the myth of "YOu can't rebuild Japanes bikes" would just away, like Jerry.
Those sites are not in the business of selling parts for vintage bikes. Pick up any chopper mag or classic bike mag and you will find businesses that do specialize in them....All makes and damn near every model. Between my dad and I we have several pre 1980 Jap bikes and have never had an issue with sourcing parts.
I found this on the interwebs, and submit it to the thread for edification, amusement or ridicule, as you so wish: http://www.jamesrussellpublishing.biz/beforeyoubuyharley.html
Boy that link gets around. I forget what they are selling, but they certainly have a thing about the HD twin cams. That link has been discussed many times over.
Yep, yep, yep. Aside from the guy sounding like a Victory dealer, I agree with everything he said about Harleys, especially the Twin Cams. They are just plain bad news. Guess I'll be getting a Sportster after all.
The Internet. Spreading ignorance and fear at the speed of light. Those damn broken down Twin Cams on the shoulder are fucking road hazards dammit. Call your congressmen now!!
Why not ride your '95 Fat Boy? http://www.mopedriders.org/viewtopic.php?t=6386&sid=21a224ebbb5dba61c6cb0fd180fbbd60
He's selling a book for $34.95 on how to change the oil in your miserable, worthless, unreliable time-bomb of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. :huh
Don't have a '95 Fatboy, never did. But I did ride the Boss Hoss 502. I would not care to own the Boss Hoss, it was to much of a handfull. Would love to have a '95 Fatboy (EVO powered) Who was it that said the Twin Cam was superior to the EVO? Doesn't look that way. Everything that guy said makes sense, and you can find the same information all over the internet in bits and pieces. WHY would the crank bearings develop so much play after so few miles? Again, a properly built EVO can and will last 100,000 miles with nothing but routine maintenance. And anyone who thinks chain driven cams are trouble free has obviously never owned a Kawasaki Vulcan 750.
He did get booted off the XT225 forum for making ridiculous claims and statements. He is living in a dream world and should be ignored.
First you say you've never ridden a big twin Harley. Then someone posts a link in which you said you own a '95 Fatboy. And now once again you say you've never had a '95 Fat Boy. Could you PLEASE just choose a lie and stick with it? TIA.
you'll find him all over the web... As Jerry, Vulcan, or some derivative of the two. Everywhere he goes he spews vitriol and misinformation and tries to pass it off as wisdom gained from experience. It doesn't take long for most folks to identify him as a troll.
