Kyns, you forgot another important point - Always use the proper seasonal air. Never use Winter air in the Summer, or the tires will run too cold.
You should have waited and posted this April 1 without the warning. Cheers.....and thanks for a good laugh.......all of you.
If I would have known about this sooner, I wouldn't have had to come up with my current method. I went a step beyond tubeless and went tireless as well. Start with some good two sided tape and push through the sheetmetal screws in the length of your choice. After applying them to the rim (sharp side out!), you take your tube of liquid rubber and apply over the top of the tape and screws. A few zip ties to hold it in place as you work are optional, but heck, with all the money you are saving by not having to splurge on an actual tube or tire, why not live it up. Now be patient when applying the liquid rubber. No need to rush it. Many smaller layers are better than one large layer (Don't ask me how I know!). How much of the screw tips you cover up will depend on the terrain you are running. Ice? More sharp is better. Same for soft offroad. If you are running more road, leave less tips exposed. Oh, it kind of sounds like a centipede tap dancing as you run down the road, but only in cooler weather. Once the tarmac heats up in the summer time and gets tacky enough to let the tips sink in....well, you want to talk traction? You'll have it in spades. Now I don't want to steal kyns thunder, so I won't say anymore on this thread. Pictorial tutorial to follow as soon as I'm done sketching up the pictures. I'm too cheap to buy a camera, so sketches on the back of a napkin are what you have to look forward to. Be safe out there!
We don't even need tyres!! Darn? For those who are interesrted The Super works a treet as a side stand. I'm in a bit of trouble my hand is stuck on the Rear Grab rail... and I need to ride home?? Oh by the way every time you ride off another hole comes in the tyre?? When I get Home I put the Billy on... Jim.
LMAO, good one, had to check my watch & make sure April didn't sneak up on me when I wasn't watching. You forgot to tell people that ya don't even need rim locks if you liberally coat the entire bead on both sides with Sikaflex prior to assembly. Much easier to balance that way. Lubing the rotors is an awesome idea, I hate squeaky brakes
