What road was this photo taken on..?

No, I'm sorry it is not Geo Millican Rd, it's not Bear Creek Rd or FS RD27 and it is not near Van Lake Rd.

OR400 or any of the other three riders pictured are ineligible to guess. Although I'm sure that by this time in our ride none of them knew where they were OR if even I knew where we were. :D

Nope, it's not Wildcat Mtn Rd. Where is Wildcat Mtn Rd? I couldn't find it on my map.

We were heading west a couple hours after getting fuel in Mt. Vernon, OR. It was another one of my "short cuts" back to Bend. :evil

I'm including another photo from the route.

We enjoyed a little bit of this before the gravel road in question....

The tarmac looks a lot like Arvid Nelson Rd. or Canyon Creek. I'm guessing you are in the northern part of the Ochoco NF, Big Summit Prairie area. Perhaps Brush Creek?

The wet tarmac was in eastern Ochoco NF before dropping back into BLM... but it was not Arvid Nelson Rd or Canyon Creek. However the gravel road in question is not in the Ochoco NF. :deal

I'm going with Lay Cock Creek rd / 49 before it connects to the Izee - Paulina rod, but I'm just guessing.

No, not Lay Cock Creek Rd / 49.

No, although it shares the same name it's in the wrong county.

Found it, I've added it to my list of roads to explore. We were farther east in the photos.

I think you may be right. Huge bummer... it is a beautiful part of the state.

Yep, I agree. After viewing the area on Google looking for the roads that have been guessed all of those canyons DO tend to look the same. Not Grindstone Rd.

Yes, we were past (east of) Paulina, but it was not Camp Creek Rd.
