Got a W86 skidplate on my 990 & it took a rock hit this summer that would have destroyed the factory "skidplate" and likely the case, too.

You want one of these, trust me.

The photo shows it installed with a center stand. I just ordered a murphs center stand so I'm thinking it will fit together? Also are you going to put these on your Weld86 website to order? Unless I was on an old website or something I didn't see the skid plate for dl650's on the site.

I will be adding them to my site when I finish the next production run.

At the moment, I have a couple of early production plates available. I didn't want to add them to the site and then not have any to sell.
If anyone is interested in one of the few I have. Send me a PM.
I expect more available in the next 2-3 weeks.

Looks good. Is this sturdy enough to support a DL650 on a motorcycle lift? One of the annoyances with my current skid plate is that I can't lift the bike if I take the crash bars off.

I put my buddies Weld86 equipped DL650 on a lift today. No problems or issues. Just center the bike on the lift to spread the load.

    A bump for Weld 86 ...

Visited with Charlie Inman today at Weld 86 and picked up one of his skid plates for my 2013 adventure. Really nice guy, really solid product and he was kind enough to take the time to (a) install it (now THAT'S customer service), and (b) offer up a suggestion or two for a super twisty long way home...

He's exactly the kind of vendor we all should be interested in. Well priced quality product fabricated by a small business owner who seems to care about what he's doing. Granted (and we talked about it), if you're planning on taking your bike into some seriously nasty, gnarly off road stuff you might want a beefier option, but you also might want to be doing that on a slightly different moto ...

But if you're looking for protection for the oil filter and exhaust and want something that should do its job well on packed dirt, fire roads, gravel and debris out on the asphalt, etc., I think this is a great option at a great price.

And now one lives on my strom.

    Thanks again Charlie!
