I've been meaning to start a common place to put all my random travel and day trip pictures and videos! Here goes! http://<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/DdMrffRUpT4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
So, you guys don't waste any time. Here's another from the same weekend. Lost a blinker in this one. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/NI-vEFo3nm4?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Saturday I changed wheels again from my street setup to the Mitas E-07's for an easy trail ride with a few miles of road riding mixed in. I did lose it in a muddy section when my front tire went one track and the rear, the other. No real hard core ADV guys along to take that instant picture, so it didn't happen! Steve and Tommy both rode with me on their XL650 Honda's. We rode some of the sandy, muddy tough stuff then headed out North of Immokalee to a place called Dinner Island (Refuge). After our stop for Mexican food in Immokalee it was late in the day, but we continued. Beautiful evening, with light breeze and about 75 degrees. We got down one two-track, but that was about it for trails, other than cow trails through the pastureland. We saw one bunch of about 12 deer, but too quick to get a photo. Back on the gravel off the two-track and Tommy pulled up to me pointing at his front tire. FLAT! V As the sun set we hit the road. 80 miles to home with a flat tire and no tube. The zip ties let loose as Tommy hit 70 MPH! He said it handled fine except for the curves (3) on the way home. I always carry spare tubes on my DRZ! Said maybe he'll spring for some new tires!
Make sure you have something to wash down that popcorn! Gets a little dry in here! Forgot about my Monday ride. Home Depot for some wood chips for smoking Salmon and pick up some cards for the Holiday. But.... Needed to stop by the Harley dealer. They love to talk to us Dual Sport types! Very close to home is a four wheeler trail into the woods and a place to play in the sugar sand. this is on the way there. On the way home I stopped at a friend's place and did a little training for a future GS Giant. Merry Christmas!
We got out 28th and played in the sandbox again. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qxQBtfr9Uws?list=UUYVhBt-yVw5r6q6qBmKo4Ng" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Steve, winter will pass before you know! Get down here and ride! Margie and I got a rare chance to get out on a ride Friday. We headed down South to the Tamiami Trail toward Miami. They're doing some sort of work, widening, or something here,East of Naples. We went down on East Trail to Loop Rd. Which goes South through the Everglades and hooks up to the Trail toward Miami. "I need something to eat!" So we stopped here to feed our selfies. We reached our destination and warmed hands. This spot is excellent to check out some wildlife! Someone brought Gator bait! And thus was life in the swamps..... Lots of furiners visiting.
It was a nice day, almost 60 here. I cut an split firewood, getting ready for the cold. We need to go hang with Kyle for a few days.
Nice to see my friends finding their way here! Saturday we didn't get out to ride, but it was just as well. It rained all day long and was chilly (70). Yesterday we got out for a short day, rode some great stuff that Steve had never found. He lives 3 miles North of this area. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/oXgoqet6siQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> We got home before sunset. In time to do a quick wash of mud on the DRZ!
