Anyone have a good line on a decal kit? I could only fine a couple companies in th UK but the cheapest is out of stock. I would like to buy local, US, if possible. Thanks
Heres a good freshen up parts resource - lots of cool stuff. Full bike sticker kits on p116 http://www.offroadaction.net/catalog/ Stu (Jackscycles) and Adrian (Lewisport) are both Jitsie importers (east/west coast) - They can get OEM stickers as well (Higher quality and much higher price)
I've seen the Jetsie's around but they don't seem to have anything other than kits for '11-'12. I think '02-'10 have a different shaped air box cover.
oops - sorry, I thought they did a old style frame kit - but it appears your right. I will check if you want. The 04 OEM has the nice urethane coatings on the side and maybe the tank as I recall.
You will have to call "LEWIS SPORT" or your local dealer to get stickers from gasgas, BTW, they are not cheap I replaced mine a couple times on the 04's but that was several years back (we owned 2 at the time). Lewissport ALSO makes his own stickers, I have a guy that makes stickers near me, the thing is it doesnt have that thick urathane cover on the decals for tank & seats. The new bikes dont have it either. But hey, the bike's are older, so how perfect does it need to me. I have several friends that got decals for the older pro's, they look good, cheap enough he could redo it when time to sell. Seen other websites overseas that sell decals sets and such, google could be handy. Seen a guy painting everything, not sure how that will turn out either, but heck, it looks good at least for a while?!.
Probably wont hear from Jitsie until Monday - Stu thought the odds where good they do as theres lots of older stuff they carry thats no longer in the catalog.
Heard back from Jitsie - no go on the 04 graphics. Stu said he could piece together a OEM kit of the tank and newer rear fender that would fit with alittle trimming for around $75. I also found this company in the UK - They have older bike designs that look pretty cool but im not sure what the quality is like - guy on TC seems to like them. www.stormgrafix.co.uk
Go to any dealer or look for the number plate background stuff, get the carbon look and clear trick out or pimp your ride !! Way cheaper !!!! once you get the carbon sticker down, put your favorite stickers on it, then put that clear cover, holds up for years !!!! about $30.00:eek1
Thanks for the effort. I found UK company on ebay that has some good looking stuff but not sure on quality. May just suck it up and get a set. They should be better then the old yellowing ones that I have. Will post pics and quality opinion if I go that route.
I use Matthew at Express Signs and can highly recommend his work, Here are some photos of custom graphics he did for my 04 Scorpa
They were done nearly two years ago. They stood up really well, though I did clear cost the tank. Matthew has done loads of graphics for my KTM's and as long as you warm them before you fit the decals to clean warm surfaces you will have no problems with peeling.
Freshen up complete. From this... ...to this. It took a while to get the graphics to curve around the plastic. Lots of blow dryer and soapy water. There curing in the sun now.
