Thanks for taking the time to write up about your adventures, and give a glimpse into the beautiful backcountry of Colorado. We were there also on street bikes this past summer, riding some of the well known highways including Independence Pass and the Million Dollar highway. I loved it! I don't think my Kawi would care for the off road experience, so it has sure made me wonder about stepping over to the dirt side of things...
I appreciate the bit of history accompanying your pictures, makes one really think about how life must have been back in those remote areas....not easy, yet indeed surrounded by beauty. I would ride back to Colorado in a second...wait...maybe the snow here needs to melt first. Thanks for the shot of fuel you've added to the fire that is my desire to ride....the further the better. Happy trails to you and your HB.
