Be it known to all ye that desire to repose, peruse, ride, cavort ,cajole, feast, and sacrifice a barca lounger should make plans to rendezvous at Ghost Rancho on the weekend of the Ides of March this will be friendly for small and large bikes no burn ban right now so we should be good for campfire and barca lounger burning. Although I'm fairly certain that it will guarantee monsoonal rains, freezing temps, and maybe a swarm of locusts, count me in.

Now . . . what are the odds that the SW-Motech rack sourced from Blighty will actually fit the 625 so I can strap on a tent and stuff?

Count me in for the 15th. They say I'm scheduled to pretend like I'm working on the 16th. I might show up Friday and camp.

Wow. Sounds like a good time to me. It will be my first ride in TX, and opportunity to meet some of the ADVers here, so I should make it happen. Will commit in a few days. I'm on a fat 07 R1200GSA that made it to D2D in AK last summer, so should be good to go.

Woodbutcher and Schizzman are in your neighborhood although they may be bringing smaller bikes this trip.

Well, that could mean any number of things:
    1. I probably won't get a speeding ticket on the way over
    2. I've been sandbagged, and my bike could end up coming back in pieces with sand embedded throughout from chasing nice light single cylinder bikes
    3. I'd probably end up carrying enough gear for 3 on the GSA truck, once my rack was discovered
    4. I could end up carrying an entire little bike home on the back of my GSA flatbed should some misfortune occur along the trail to one of the small bikes
    5. I could end up buying the beautiful small bike off them for top dollar, after riding the GSA for a few miles in the sand
    6. I could make some new friends by carrying the beer

It's sounding more like an adventure all the time.

Yep, haven't decided on riding the GSA up or hauling my DR650 on the truck. And each decision depends on when and if I can get away from work early on Friday. I'm in Phoenix right now, so I won't know until I get back to the office on Monday. I'll keep you posted.

Let's keep in touch on this. Maybe Boulder_Ed will throw in with us. Not sure which bike I'm bringing at the moment. Just got extra tubes today for the WRR but still need a new tail bag for all the side-of-the-road gear.

SOG, you getting a hotel room??
