We camped in Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral, Florida over dpring break Photo of our rig. I took a couple of longish road trips. The last was to New Smyrna Beach. Rode on the beach. Found a cool restaurant. Great tuna. Went back to the campsite. Next trip I need to take more pictures!
Looks like fun! I have never seen a scooter mounted on the front before. I wonder if my wife would Lete do that on her Suburban?
Cool trip! Yea next time more pics of the scooter ride would be nice, but I know how hard it is to think of taking pics when your enjoying the ride so much! You just gotta snap em at good scenic places and rest stops on longer trips. But nice ride! Yea I've never seen a rig like that on the front either, but looks like your truck can handle it and looks to work out well, only concern I might have would be the air restriction to your radiator and air conditioner condenser radiator, could be a little hard on the motor but if its getting plenty of air no worries there.
Looks like btcn had the dupe post glitch hit him last night, he posted the same thing 7 times. I like the front hitch setup too. I looked into this so that I could bring my scooter when I take my camper out... Sadly, my tow rig isn't large enough for me to find an aftermarket front hitch to do this with. I'll have to upgrade to a real truck eventually. That Expedition is HUGE! :huh I've stayed down at Cape Canaveral several times, it's a nice trip. Have you stayed on the Gulf or down at the Keys before? I love the crystal clear water there, it is much prettier than the Atlantic.
Oh yea something screwed up! I tried posting and then it just kept loading but it wouldn't post so I clicked back and kept doing it but it wouldn't post! So I gave up and figured it'd be fixed today and I come to post it and its posted 7 times! Oh well, I'll delete all of then but one. Kinda strange. But yea nice idea. But do the radiators get plenty of air or does it restrict it a bit. Normally a little restriction shouldn't matter, but when towing that big ol' trailer I'd be a bit concerned, especially when going up big mountain climbs on the interstate.
The temp gauge never moves on the V-10. The gas gauge does though! The Elite has good power and rides well enough. It does need new shocks and probably needs a new variator and belt. One glaring deficiency is the seat. It is OK for 30 minute rides, but is lacking for the 1/2 day rides. A Day Long rebuild would be nice, but then the seat would be worth more than the scooter. I tried the WalMart ATV strap on cushions, and a Butt Buffer. Didn't help that much.
