My wife of 18 years is my best friend. We have been blessed the last couple years to take a couple trips together while my parents took our kids. This year we got to do a 2k loop down south and go to Moto GP in Indianapolis. She is a trooper. We rode from NE Ohio to Birmingham Alabama in 24 hours. No complaints. We are happy to talk through the helmets. For some reason can talk non stop on the bike for hours. She has her license but prefers at this point to be a passenger. Couldn't decide on the pics so you are getting a handful. Hope you don't mind. Getting gas somewhere in Atlanta late at night. The only gas station we could find with parking lot lights and no bars on the windows. We knew as soon as we got off the previous exit we were in the wrong place so we kept looking. Sometimes the best part of the trip is the food stop! We aren't ashamed to say that we polished off the entire box while we sat there. Yum! Inside Barber Motorsports Museum after our 24 hour run. At the start of day 2. We took a shot like this every day on our trip. Hiding out from the sun on the shady side of a building. We say 105 degrees on the bike while moving during our trip. Fully geared up mind you! No explanation needed. Picture steal. Sorry. At the 2014 Redbull Moto GP in Indianapolis. Sorry for all the pics with me in them. I will say that there's no one I'd rather spend time with than her. Thanks for looking.
Brian, what a looker with such a gorgeous smile, you are a lucky man, hang on to her. Bev and I will be married 42 years in a month, and now that we are both retired spend almost 24/7 together, it only gets better. Dave Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2
I can understand this fully. We rode across Australia, a total of 10,000 kms and talked the whole way. I spent days before we left making sure I had heaps of music for the headset, but we just chatted endlessly. We both can't wait for the next chance to do a big ride.
Thanks Dave (and everyone else). I'm looking forward to the rest of my life with her. Congrats on 42 years! Quite an accomplishment these days...
My wife of 28 years and I also have intercoms, and love talking while riding, to the ones that say ( I love riding because I don't have to listen to the wife ) well......I just feel sorry for you.
Second best accessory I purchased was the intercoms. First? Heated jacket liners. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
We use radios too. On street rides, we primarily use them to talk about the sights. On the dual-sports, I advise/warn her about upcoming terrain and obstacles.
We LOVE talking while traveling, but haven't found any headsets for us that worked properly. Whadda you guys use and/or recommend???
We use the Sena SMH10. Had the Cardo for a long time. Worked well but the Sena is easier to use and has more volume to hear over earplugs. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Our family uses UHF radios from Rugged Radios. We tried several cheaper options, with less than satisfactory results. On a few occasions my wife and I were able to communicate when about 5 miles apart, but usually they are good for about one mile - depending on the terrain. We often ride with multiple families and we get pretty spread out on the trail. The radios have been great for keeping the group together and dealing with emergencies. And it is fun to talk with my wife and kids while we ride. For my details about my lessons learned, check out my blog.
we have Sena SMH5, my boy and I used them just today on a 3 hour dual sport ride, they get a bit fuzzy when out of site but other than that work great.
Sena SMH10. Works well with intercom, Playing music from Cell phone, Making and receiving phone calls ( all on the move using voice commands) Very simple to use and very good battery life.
