Rallye navigation bracket photo thread

On a rally bike where you change the oil every day the benefits probably only outweigh the risks in the really hot and hard races with long stages like the Dakar.

On an adventure bike however I can definitely see the benefit due to increased capacity and slower break down, especially on a converted enduro with only 1-1.5 liters of oil stock.

I was thinking from a racing point of view. Yes, it probably helps with an adventure bike to aid in oil longevity.

I use the Earls oil cooler on my sidecar. They work ok, but I've had two of them crack around the inlet and outlet. You have to make sure the hoses don't move at all when you turn the handlebars so there isn't a force put through the fittings. Also, in line with other subjects in this thread, my fairing is indestructable HDPE.

Im just trying to be sure this thread doesnt go to 100 pages of smiley faces and random rally bike questions and stays on track with photos and discussions on navagation brackets.

That is indeed correct and it will also help people who search to find results better... We drifted off a bit with the oil coolers anyways ...

If I were you I would start it from scratch perhaps editing the end of your posts here with a link to the dedicated thread or put it in your "signature" .... documenting all the hard work you have done so far..

I am not a mod or trying to be offensive but it seems there proably needs to be a thread about the mechanics of the actual roadbook hardware and options on the various models. This way we have a "folder" just for them in our "file cabinet" of rally related tools!

My interest came from that beautiful ktm cooler and its mounts. I also have a setrab but it's fork mounted and thus makes steering feel heavier.

There really is no option but to bracket mount anything if you want light steering is there ?

The amount of tailorisation suggests there's no one size fits most approach.

This is still pretty relevant to this thread since most rally bikes have the oil cooler integrated into the nav tower.

Looks like another copy of the KTM RR parts so I bet that is what the two holes below the grommets for the lower light are for.
