Having an opinion that is not mainstream for this forum somehow makes me unworthy of posting? If we all were to think alike and want the same thing, life would be terribly boring. Just saying... I'll shut up now (to no longer upset the status quo) and continue lurking around here and drooling, as well as judging, in the peaceful atmosphere of my home office. Hope to see more interesting rig builds.

I will have to throw a couple of pairs of gloves in the mix trying to keep my hands warm in the winter.
Drone pointed it out to me. I now have 11 threads on ADV that I'm subscribed to; three are hack oriented. Good thing I'm retired, or I'd get fired for drooling on the company's keyboard looking at all these beautiful mechanical things on three wheels. Time for a nap!

(may be two light) Still need .. FXR wheel berrings... 2mm Alloy for cargo box ( have most off) a few bolts/nuts etc So cost is not a lot...
Bought the GS/Hannigan rig gently used for $18k. Added Krista lights, Stebel horn, Jesse bags and a GPS called Captain Bligh. Took out the seat and installed a memory foam dog bed. Put a set of Rotopax gas and water cans mounted to the bulkhead. Added a tonneau cover with a zippered hatch that lets Barley find shade or fresh air as he prefers. It's a nice rig for local rides, but excels at long trips like our 5200 mile adventure around the Great Lakes this summer. Barley and I check out some pretty wild places! And we really enjoy our time together!

I already owned the bike so sidecar $500.00 from barn in Denver; A little sweat equity; And for under $2,000.00 including a subframe from Dauntless I ended up with this; For under $200.00 I built this one Winter in the living room for those long off road trips;
$3000, all in with license plates and a new title. About 80 hours of sweat equity. One nice rig, as long as you don't go over 55
It must be great cruizing down the road on it. Now for the Midget....I've owned Spitfires, Land Rovers, both series and newer, and will never again drop a penny on anything with four wheels from England. They are bigger money pits than any bike from anywhere. Each to his own form of madness, I guess. :huh
WU7X, thanks for the compliment; I'll pass it along to my old Guzzi! I do understand where you're coming from as regards Brit cars. But in my case you have it right: it's definitely madness. I bought my first one, a Mini, in 1976. That first was then followed by six more Minis, one Hillman Minx, and the Midget. That's some 35 years of Little British Car ownership. And what's even crazier, these things have been my daily drivers the whole time! I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but it did all seem to start when I watched the 1969 film The Italian Job. Seeing those Minis flying over sidewalks, stairways, and sewers did something to my then 16-year old brain. It just made me laugh, and made me determined to have a Mini. Trouble is, I'm 52 now, and I'm still laughing...
