That would just be regular touring wouldn't it?

I just did 2000K on a ZZR250, all on road, not ADV style riding but I still had a ball.

If you had fun then who cares what you call it?:deal

    Agree.

If you aren't riding on tar, you must be riding on dirt, which is just trail riding.:evil

The adventure part is independent of the surface.

And yet again we get people who are confusing the word "Adventure" with the meaning of the words "Adventure riding"...

Every time this comes up we seem to get people who want the label of "Adventure rider" more than they want to do any all roads touring.

The term "Adventure riding" is traditionally used to describe touring by motorcycle on gravel, or unsealed roads, if the traveling is being done on mainly sealed roads, then it is Motorcycle touring, which is no less of a form of riding than unsealed roads touring.

As I said in my first post, if you enjoy it, then who cares what it is called.:D

I'd say that road is fucked...

If it is in that condition for a few hundred K then I wouldn't call it a sealed road...

Road surface is appropriate for number of vehicle movements and population density:deal

If that's the traditional name for it so be it. Sounds like an urban definition to me.

    I just ride bikes...
