I have a Wee-Strom and a DR350SE I want to try some EZ single track and double track Dual Sport Riding. I can get a Referbished Tom-Tom for under $100.00 with lifetime map updates. What would you do?
I have a Garmin 1300, similiar to a tom tom, and I use it on my bmw g650gs, my kawa klx250sf and my suzuki c50 boulevard. If you worry about rain, just put a sandwich baggy over it, works good and you can still see the screen and push the buttons. By the way, got the Garmin refurbised for less than 100 from amazon.
I dont believe the Tom Tom does tracks; I dont know what you will do with it off road. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> I see map updates as largely vender updates. <o> </o> You know there is a GPS forum here, Layin Down Tracks
Of course, I forget. :eek1 For me, my GPS unit is all about giving me routes to where I want to be. And if it cant do that at least it will point me the direction I need to go
Hello Jim, Agree with previous. In my opinion, it would be best to pass on the Tom Tom. Best devices on the market will be Garmin Montana 6xx or Zumo 66x devices with City Navigator CNNT. For details and info, here is some advice. Good luck, River Pilot Cheyenne, WY. U.S.A. Web: www.riverspilot.com
Well, you might be able to do that but it not so easy. The picture is one way my Zumo does off road routing. The red arrow points in the direction I need to go as I am riding to find my target along with various statistics on the ride. Or I could use the map screen and have a white arrow to glide me.
