Just wondering if others have early photos of themselves on a bike.

My old man sent me this the other day. Myself at 4yrs old in the very eary 70's.

My brilliant riding career wasn't to be though, as you can see I couldn't weight the pegs or change my CoG:augie That and my mother:bluduh

Did anyone look at that pic and think "Ha ha, that dude looked like a chick when he was young"?

Is that a Honda Cub 50?

That was my first bike, no pics thankfully...

I think the first pics that exist of me on a bike would have been from when I was about 16 on an old KX125...

    Wow... Big bore!!!

I found mine in my grandfathers shed when I was 10 or 11.

We dragged it out, put one and a half 1l soft drink bottles of petrol syphoned out of dads car in it, and she started after three or four kicks.

Me, Tagati and our two cousins spent the whole night on it (all at once) riding up and down the new section of the Flinders highway (it was still being built at the time).

I tried my hardest to kill that thing, but in the end it was Tagati and one of his mates who took it down the back, couldn't get it going and left it there for me to go and pick up.

That was the last time it ran.

And thats where I think the seed was planted to ride from Townsville to my home at Woodstock, on some highly unappropriated shitbox.

At 16 I did it one night on the aforementioned KX, and then in a drunken episode a few years later I rode a borrowed Suzuki 70cc two stroke scooter the whole 40K one Saturday night.:lol3

I still have to give that thing back to Mal one day...

And then there was the time I thought the KX had been stolen after another drunken episode...

But that has bugger all to do with pics of bikes...

That would have been an evil handling thing in a crosswind, Dave. When did you get the R75/6? you had it when I came on the scene in WA in 1976.

This doesn't seem that long ago... 1990 or 91, I was about 17 or 18. Honda XL185 that I used to ride to work on.

Not sure if the first picture.. but the earliest I could find. This was taken on boxing day 1973 on board my mate's DT2. Notice the ATGATT approach of the day. (Well I did have sand shoes on!) This was taken on a farm near Beenleigh in QLD Now it is all housing estate. The fellow who owned this bike was then a medical student and he went on to have a General Practice in Sandgate. We were close like brothers from the age of 5; he was the one who got me into trail bikes and then sadly he died from cystic fibrosis in 1990. Very much mised.
