could have moved the duck today, but I'll wait a bit and give someone else the chance to play.

The duck escapes.........read on:
After a nice long am ride through the Poconos the duck and I round up and head east. We stop for lunch ![]() During lunch the duck says to me: "hey what the "duck" is with you guys? Sticking me in holes, under rocks, in steel gate posts, I'm a frikin duck and its hot outside !" ![]() Ok, ok, we need to find you water to wait out the next pick up. So we head for the Pequest River. After lunch we turned onto: ![]() Then: ![]() As we approached the river ![]() Look on the left side of the road to see the well hidden entry: ![]() It quickly opens up: ![]() More to follow: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Stop when you cross OVER the Pequest:
![]() ![]() There is where the duck gets away from me. But I digress..... He wanted his natural habitat so I had to stop by Bruce's house for fishing line so he could swim but still be retrievable. Well I guess Bruce fishes for guppies because when I lowered the duck into the creek........... Yea, the line parted! And there he went.................. ![]() ![]() And I wasn't jumping in after him, so there he was in those branches laughing "I'm free!" ![]() Now what ? ![]() More to follow: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

They actually trust you with ships when you can't even park a duck in water

![]() I remember that trail/bridge from a few years ago-- it was the first time Mike impressed me with how well he handled his GS off road. How many years ago? I think I was on my TransAlp

NY Metro Dirt Tag-O-Rama
What to do ?
I was back there and with the duck on the loose down river I needed to sacrifice something on the bike to keep the game moving. But what ? And then it hit me: VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV ![]() OH YES! ![]() Mr. Bill will due nicely until a new duck is back in the game. You'll find Bill in the weeds on the port side of the trestle, my blinker actually pointing at him: ![]() ![]() ![]() Continue on till you hit the paved road. Except for a small log to pop over, its smooth. You won't even have to fold your mirrors. ![]() The next dirt tagger to make the grab should bring a new duck. If possible keep Bill in safe keeping for me as he has ridden many miles on the back of the DR. Just drop him under the old train depot you'll see across the street when you pop out onto the pavement assuming you have a new duck for replacement. Or stop over and say hi. I don't live far. Enjoy ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

If you want the original duck, there is a whole shelf filled with them at Toys R Us! You did the ride, you found the spot, you confirmed it with the duck. Now, as you did, the finder just replaces the mascot with another, and the game goes on. Thanks for moving the tag! Nice get, by the way, Dockingpilot. ![]() ![]() That was pretty far from your home!

Well, there's a coincidence: last night I added that trail to my list of places to check out after looking at some of the old tags in the game for inspiration - that was serious tagging in serious Winter weather. Haven't got far enough through the list to find out what happened to Kowalski yet, though.
Nice work, DP... except for the slipknot .

Fail #2
It was a nice day, I've not been at one with my work recently, and I'd only been out riding once in the past 4 weeks; cue day off. Went to the Trebour Suzuki Demo Day (free snack but didn't have one of those cool, light bikes DP has), then a couple of roads nearby I wanted to check out, then I went for the tag.
There's been some bridge work since StreetView went by: ![]() The old sleepers were a surprise and there were more obstacles than DP's commentary let on: ![]() After that I had to go over a log, but when I came to what looked like a whole tree over the trail I turned back because I was sure I must be on the wrong trail; the log was still waiting: ![]() Oops, Stuck. There were depressions on that side of the log where I guess others had done the same. After trying some stuff with branches, eventually laid the big German lump down and levered it over: ![]() ![]() I didn't have any lifts left in me, so I called it a day on exploring, but since I wanted to see it anyway, I went round to where the trail comes out: ![]() So, I shouldn't do this stuff on my own, I need to learn to do it properly (or not do it). |
