Great racing! The track was damn near perfect,hard-packed and smooth. Not one red flag during all the races.Weather was hot!Pretty good crowd, should have had more, but good nonetheless.40+ singles,30+ twins.
Fast time turned by Singles champ overall Vanderkur overall!(A first,I think) Fastest by a twin,Jeff Carver just a tick behind on an XR.The Harleys dominated over the Kawasaki's,Suzuki's,et al. all night. Was a perfect night for Sammy Halbert.Won his heat, the dash-for-cash and a come-from-behind 25 lap main over Brad Baker and 3rd place Henry Wiles. This was Halbert's first race after ACL surgery.Impressive!

No question it was a great night for Sammy Halbert although Mees won the Dash.

Pretty sure Jared would have traded that dash win for a top 5 in the main! I think Bryan Smith was a little disappointed in his finish too. Hank on a FAST Harley..... Now that could be interesting this year .

My brother in law and I are riding up again from Tennessee. We have been going for many years now and always look forward to the mile at Springfield. It seems like everyone brings their A game to Springfield for sure. If you see two old guys in the bleachers down towards the first turn with bags of kettle corn half the size of their bodies, that's us. :
