Went the wrong way apparently. Yankees don't ride between October and April.

I tried to spur it along by throwing it in the PA TAG game but i guess it is stalled. I thought about doing the 12 hour round trip to bring it to Jersey but ran out of hours in the weekend.

I wanted to see the memorial and the way the game is going, I might still be able to in the coming weeks.

There's a national tag game going also? (or did you mean this North American Tag?)

I'm guessing two or three tags per state should get this thing moved to Maine by late March.

I had to work for this one
    [IMG]

I took 77 to Greencastle, then 16 to Mconnelsburg, then 30 the rest of the way. Oh how I love those roads, shame they all had so much junk on them, this might have to become one of my monthly rides. About 90 miles of twisty low traffic bliss. The final climb uphill before getting to the Somerset area is where it got interesting. Temperature was at least 10 degrees lower the wind was 2x as bad and the 3 or so inches of fresh snow was drifting across the roads. Still wasn't bad until Buckstown road, road was drifted over and went from spots of packed ice and snow to 2-3" deep powder. Only dropped the bike once, was an uphill section and the wind was blowing so hard it slid me and the bike sideways 5' and off the road. :eek1 I'm defrosting a bit now at the Starbucks in Breezewood. will add a bit more later when I get home.

Just a few miles from the 1st Monument built (1827) to the 1st President of the United States stands this Monument honoring the War Correspondents from the Civil War (built in 1896). You can go there at night but watch out as that Blair Witch might wander up the hill into the park.

I wanted to use the 1st mentioned monument but there's no way to get the bike close enough to it for a photo, but I encourage anyone who's coming for this one to go there as well...... if you have the time there is so much to see in this area from the Civil War and before you could spend a few days just seeing it all.

Some more info - the tag is 50' tall and 40' wide and the other Monument I couldn't use as a tag is 54' round at the bottom and is 30' tall.

    Mike -
I'm surprised. I thought you were going to go for doubles with the Maryland Tag.
So close but the street is slick with snow in Damascus, so I can guess what the mountain is like right now.

If I would have left the house a bit earlier I would have, plus the last 2 miles were so bad it took me about 45 min extra. I'm guessing it would have been as bad or worse up on Savage as it is about at the same elevation.....
