There really aren't a lot of vacuum hoses on the TBI 2.5, the 4.2 carburetor is another story. My Renix has been really reliable, I've replaced 02 sensors (and the timer) and an idle motor, in the 22 years I've owned my YJ. The cat was changed under the recall. It is a NOBD :) system, you check voltages at the Dulux connector with a VOM probe. With a shop manual it's not hard, but not fall off a rock easy like on a modern OBD system. But, yes, the YJ's did just get better every year till the end, but they're all simple.
