And has always been closed over the winter. Normal reopening date is mid May, let's hope it does this year.

:doh Yeah, forgot about that. Hopefully it is open May 15 as you say. One of the best gravel routes around Calgary for sure.

Yep, I've always associated PFT with the fishing season opening day around those parks. Also, Peter Lougheed should be open that day also. May 15th is better than my birthday actually when I think about it....

Powderface is never a destination but certainly a better option for getting through that area than having to go around to the north. It was in overall, great condition last year when the gates were open (and they actually were for a while).

Possibly easy ride Thursday. Maybe 11:00 in cochrane at the Shell. I'll know more tomorrow. Nothing Knarly just an easy ride, weather permitting. 2-3 hour loop out to Banff or North up the trunk. I have to be home for swimming lessons. Lol.

Just returned from part 1 of 340 day trip.

Did you take lots of pictures? Sounds like a trip that would be fun to hear about. I like to live vicariously through more amvi4ious people.

Just getting ready too do the Eastern Canada run one more time, then do a fast track run too Alaska, Yukon, and Territories to top off the full 400 days...

The last part will be on my drz 400 since it is low mileage of 16.000 to 20.000 kms...

I hope it is thawed out when I get back home... LOL

Enjoying a break from work, hockey and politics here in Italy for a few weeks. Rented a BMW 850R to explore central and northern Italy.

I have to say that my motorcycling unicorn is the Chianti region of Tuscany... no wonder the Italians churn out so many world-class riders and drivers. The roads in this region (between Florence and Sienna) are perfect for bringing out your inner Rossi.

Stopped to buy gas in a little town in the Italian Alps, the guy had his collection of plated vintage dirt bikes parked inside in the restaurant area.

Italians love anything with wheels... and motorcycles seem to be exempt from most of the rules that get you into trouble back in Canada. You pass traffic where ever you want, and always ride up to the front of stopped cars at any red light... very civilized. Already planning next riding vacation back here.

Looks like a really crappy vacation, Andy. I bet you can't wait to get home.:rofl

Don't let your inner Rossi come out too far or you might not like the result you get from the local Polizia. Or worse, from the local tour bus rounding the corner on the wrong side of the road!

    Have fun!

Whats the best place to look for rim protectors here in Calgary? Looking to change some tires but don't want to bash up my rims.
